An old-fashioned cop emerges to foil a high-tech attack on the country's computer infrastructure as Bruce Willis brings back one of the biggest action franchises in screen history. It's been over a decade since audiences last saw New York cop John McClane (Willis), but now, as the world's greatest criminal mastermind (Timothy Olyphant) attempts to cripple the entire country with an innovative act of technological terrorism, only one cop can insure that the integrity of the system stays intact. In this, the fourth installment of the long-running action series, Underworld director Len Wiseman picks up the torch formerly carried by directors John McTiernan and Renny Harlin to helm a script penned by Mark Bomback. 2 out of 5 stars! Yeah i just crashed my Mitsubishi Eclipse into a Helicopter the other day! 2010-09-19
I loved all the die hards and was pretty excited about this one. Well that disipated when i saw the overkill computer hacker plot, ludicrous action scenes and basically Bruce being indestructible as ever. Football players that are well trained and full of muscle get hurt all the time, with something as a sprained ankle, but 50+ year old John McClain can out run planes, duck flying cars, jump off buildings, has super healing wounds like wolverine, and lets not forget as he lunges that police car right into that S.W.A.T helicopter. As i said i just did that the other day and WOW it was a blast, i didnt even have to try! So i think you get the point, this was just another dead franchise that takes CGI yet again to a ridiculous level. Give us some films from old schoolers with REAL stunts, REAL explosions, and just an overall feel that they worked very hard on it. The Expendables was 1000 times better and more plausible than this, and it was actually cheesy, and had a better story! So forget this movie, watch Bruce in Tears of The Sun, 16 Blocks, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, or the old Die Hards. Anything but this stinker, oh yeah i heard the next one will feature John McClain farting and taking out a tank in downtown L.A!! It will be called DIEFART!!Go BRUCE!
